Monosorb ® Plus is an absorbable monofilament in polydioxanone (PDO) of maximum quality and antimicrobic that we have chosen for its elevated quality standards.

 

SHAPING UP THREADS IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE

Shaping Up uses New Generation PDO threads to restore elasticity, hydration and tone to the skin by stimulating the natural production of collagen.

The method consists in the subcutaneous insertion of resorbable PDO threads. The treatment adopts a minimally invasive technique that can be performed on an outpatient basis without anesthesia, thus minimizing the risk of side effects and allowing patients to recover quickly after intervention.

It is a polydioxanone resorbable surgical monofilament assembled inside a needle of variable size. After application in the dermis, the thread remains in place, while the needle is extracted.

Over time, the aging process leads to a progressive sagging of the skin and a decrease in the volume of the dermis in quantity and diameter due to a lower production of hyaluronic acid. The Shaping Up threads are able to reverse this trend not only by stimulating skin rehydration, but also enabling to recover the visco-elasticity and compactness of the skin, improving cellular activity and solving the problem of skin trophism.

  

PERSONALIZED TREATMENT

Following the evaluation of the patient's conditions, his clinical history and the area on which to carry out the treatment, the doctor decides which is the most suitable type of thread to use. Each Shaping Up thread corresponds to a precise area of intervention and an equal specific surgical technique, which allows the correct implantation of the threads at different depths of the dermis depending on the desired effect: bio-restructuring, revitalizing, remodeling or tensoring.

ACTION

Once Shaping Up threads are implanted, they immediately begin their bio-stimulating action with visible tension effects already in the first hours. In the following months, the gradual reabsorption of the threads within the fibrous connective tissue, stimulates cellular metabolism and the production of collagen type III, which determines a filling effect on the treated areas and an optimization of the texture. Unlike conventional needles, Shaping Up needles have been designed with significant changes in terms of sharpening and lubrication to facilitate their insertion. The new atraumatic needle is characterized in the upper part by a triple sharpening, while for the lower side the traditional "arrow sharpening" has been eliminated. Thanks to these technical modifications, the needle acquires a contained size which, associated with lubrication, allows a less invasive and simpler insertion than before.
